Perfect for young and old alike, A Dickens Tale brings Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol” to life in front of your very eyes. Join old Scrooge, bumbling Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, old Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future while discovering the true meaning of the season.

    • TH. 1.K-5: Students discuss their reactions to the play, focusing on what emotions they felt and which characters or scenes were most memorable. They identify elements such as costumes, lighting, and set design, and describe how these elements helped tell the story. 
  • Anchor Standard 8: Interpret intent and meaning in artistic work.

    • TH .1.K-2: Younger students (K-2) express what they think the characters wanted (objectives) and discuss why characters acted in certain ways (motivations).
    • TH .1.3-5: Older students (3-5) delve deeper into the themes of the play, such as poverty and resilience, and discuss how these themes are brought to life through the characters and plot.
